Police: Man walks into King County Jail, tells staff he killed woman that morning

SEATTLE — A 35-year-old man was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday after police say he walked into the King County Jail and told staff members he wanted to turn himself in for a murder he committed earlier that morning.

Police interviewed the man, who said the killing happened at an apartment building located in the 1800 block of Minor Avenue, located just west of I-5 in downtown Seattle.

Officers went to the apartment building and found a dead 28-year-old woman.

Detectives continued to interview the man, and he was later booked into the King County Jail on investigation of murder.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
