Police investigate 2 separate attempted luring cases in Clallam County

Police in Clallam County are investigating two separate attempted luring cases that happened this month.

On Jan. 10 at about 5:30 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was at Stevens Middle School in Port Angeles when a man came up to him and said the teen's mother told him to pick the teen up and to get in the car.

Police said the teen didn't know the man and told him "No" and the man then told the teen he was leaving.  The teen went back towards the school and the man drove away.

Police described the man as white, about 30 years old, had blue eyes, brown hair with a lot of hair gel, a mustache and deep voice. He was driving a minivan with automatic doors with a stick figure family on the back.

Police said in the same week, a student at Roosevelt Elementary was walking home after being dropped off by a bus when a van pulled up to him. The student had headphones on and noticed a man inside the van say something to him.

The student told police he couldn't hear what the man said but from the way his mouth moved, he thought he said, "Do you want some candy?"

The man was described as clean-shaven, about 30 to 40 years old, wore a green and gray flannel shirt. The man had several boxes in the passenger seat of his van, which was described as a newer model.

Anyone with information about the two incidents is asked to call police.
