Police arrest teen who threatened to shoot Meadowdale High student

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A 14-year-old Edmonds-Woodway High School student was arrested after sending threatening messages and a video to a Meadowdale High School student, the Lynnwood Police Department said.

The messages and video were sent through a messaging app.

In a release from the police, the 14-year-old threatened to shoot the Meadowdale student and the teen’s classmates.

In the video, the teen suspect displayed what the victim described as a handgun, the police department said.

Police said the victim told school administrators at Meadowdale, and they called law enforcement.

Investigators later said they believed it was an airsoft gun in the video.

The Edmonds-Woodway teen was arrested at his parents’ house and booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center for harassment with threats to kill, according to the police department.

The investigation is ongoing.
