More exposure sites named in southwest Washington measles outbreak

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Authorities investigating a measles outbreak in southwestern Washington said Saturday they've ruled out two suspected cases but identified three new locations where people may have been exposed to the highly contagious viral illness.

After declaring a public health emergency, the Clark County Public Health department says the number of confirmed measles cases remains at 19 and five more cases are suspected.

The confirmed cases include 15 children under the age of 10, three people between 11 and 18 and one adult.

One has been hospitalized and a total of 16 weren't immunized.

Health officials also removed Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland from a list of potential exposure sites but added three others in Battle Ground, Washington, including Maple Grove School, River HomeLink school and A Children's Dentist.
