Missing person killed in Bothell crash

BOTHELL, Wash. — Investigators with Washington State Patrol now know what happened to a 20-year-old woman from Mukilteo who was reported missing over the weekend.

Hannah Rising died after her car veered off I-405 near 195th Avenue in Bothell. Troopers say her car careened 150 feet down an embankment and hit a tree. The wreck was not visible from the highway and first responders did not find it.

Rising's family filed a missing persons report over the weekend. When she never showed up, friends backtracked her location.

Friends discovered Rising's vehicle along with her body Sunday evening, family members said. Troopers were called to investigate but have yet to determine the cause of the crash.

"I think everybody who knew her knew she was just bright, independent and a solid human being," says Bud Howell, Rising's step-grandfather.

Rising was working as a dental assistant at Harbour Points Dental Arts.

According to the accident report, the crash occurred near the 195th Avenue ramp.
