Marshawn Lynch’s mom ‘really excited’ son is back with Seahawks

SEATTLE — Seahawks fans are reacting to the excitement surrounding the return of Marshawn Lynch, but there’s one person who’s more excited to have him back -- his mother, Delisa “Momma” Lynch.

KIRO 7’s Gary Horcher spoke to Delisa Lynch, who was in Oakland, over the phone on her way home from work Tuesday to get her reaction to her son's reunion with the team.

Lynch is predicting a seismic event like the famous Beast Quake again this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers and she’ll be there.

“I’m just really excited. I want to see how that stadium is going to light up when they call my baby’s name to come through that tunnel,” Lynch said. “If it goes off like I think it is when he runs through that tunnel, it might be a Beast Quake before he plays!”

Before Marshawn Lynch officially signed with the Seahawks, Delisa Lynch tweeted, “Let’s go 24 !!!!!”

Later she tweeted: “Congratulations to my son for being the TRUE WARRIOR I RAISED !!!! Go Shawn it’s going to be great to watch you enjoy your craft. God has truly blessed our family.”

Lynch says you'll see her son with Skittles again -- a tradition she started when he was a kid.

“He said, ‘Mom, y’know my stomach hurts.’ And I said, ‘No, that ain’t your stomach, them’s nerves.’ So I would be like: ‘Here, here some power pellets. Eat these. They’re going to make you run fast, and you won’t even have to worry about the stomach,’” said Lynch.

She said it all won’t seem real until game time.

“He’ll run through there, and I know that’s when my adrenaline and my reality will really set in that my baby is back!” said Lynch.

On Saturday she said she’ll be having a 12s celebration for her birthday and Marshawn Lynch’s return. For fans that want to attend, it will be Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight at Smoke and Shine Restaurant at 11516 124th Ave Northeast in Kirkland.
