Man taken to hospital after being stabbed up to 10 times, police say

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A man in his 60s was taken to the hospital after being stabbed up to 10 times on Sunday evening in Marysville, police said.

Officers were called to the 12100 block of 51st Avenue Northeast after someone called 911 and said that their friend had been stabbed with a large kitchen knife.

Multiple others also called 911 after seeing the suspect outside with bloody hands, police said.

When officers arrived, they performed first aid and applied a tourniquet to the victim’s arm, which they said was losing blood.

The victim was taken to Providence Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, according to police.

The suspect fled the scene but was found knocking on the door of a nearby home after a K-9 was used to track him.

He was taken into custody.

Police did not say what led to the stabbing but are investigating.
