Man shot in the chest in parking lot of Lake Forest Park apartments

A Washington State Patrol dog trained to look for weapons and shell casings was brought to the scene as officers collected evidence.

LAKE FOREST PARK, Wash. — A man is in the hospital after he was found shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Lake Forest Park.

Officers were called to the complex on 28th Avenue Northeast near Northeast 195th Street at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday.

They arrived to find a man in the parking lot who had been shot in the chest, Lake Forest Park police Lt. Diego Zanella said. It is not known if the victim lives in the apartment complex.

Officers gave the man first aid until medics arrived and took the man to the hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Police searched the area for the shooter, but they were not found. No witnesses have come forward and police have not released a description of the shooter, Zanella said.

The Major Crimes Task Force is helping Lake Forest Park detectives with the investigation.
