SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a fatal shooting as a homicide after a man’s body was found in an International District park early Friday.
Police said that at 2:25 a.m., officers on patrol spotted a man lying motionless on the ground at the entrance to Kobe Terrace Park on South Washington Street.
Officers began first aid on the unresponsive man and discovered he had gunshot wounds.
Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and tried to revive him, but the 34-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.
Members of the Seattle Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit collected evidence and processed the scene.
Homicide detectives will continue the investigation.
