SPANAWAY, Wash. — A man was arrested Tuesday morning in a shooting that killed a man in Spanaway on Dec. 31.
Officers were called to the 21600 block of 41st Avenue East in Spanaway at 11:07 a.m. and found a man dead in a garage at a home.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said the suspect was the homeowner’s son.
The 28-year-old man was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder and kidnapping.
On the day of the shooting, woman who had brought the victim to the garage was waiting outside in a car. After the shooting, the suspect jumped in the car and told the driver he had just killed her friend and ordered her to drive away, according to the sheriff’s department.
It is this alleged incent that led to the kidnapping charge, authorities said.
