SPANAWAY, Wash. — A man was arrested Tuesday morning in a shooting that killed a man in Spanaway on Dec. 31.

Officers were called to the 21600 block of 41st Avenue East in Spanaway at 11:07 a.m. and found a man dead in a garage at a home.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said the suspect was the homeowner’s son.

The 28-year-old man was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

On the day of the shooting, woman who had brought the victim to the garage was waiting outside in a car. After the shooting, the suspect jumped in the car and told the driver he had just killed her friend and ordered her to drive away, according to the sheriff’s department.
