Law enforcement searching for seven of 19 vehicles stolen from Pierce County auto auction

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force is searching for seven vehicles after 19 vehicles were stolen from an auto auction lot in Fredrickson over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The thefts happened in the 19100 block of 38th Avenue East.

A deputy called to the auction lot was shown a section of fence that had been cut and a large gate that had been rammed, according to deputies.

Deputies said the thieves broke into the auction building and stole the keys to 19 vehicles.

During a search for the vehicles, the tasks force was able to recover two vehicles over the weekend and had recovered a total of 12 as of Dec. 2.

Now law enforcement said they are looking for the remaining seven vehicles that were taken from the lot.

None of the vehicles have license plates.

Law enforcement is asking the public to keep an eye out for the remaining vehicles, which can be seen above. Anyone with information is asked to call 253-329-2442 or call 911.

Authorities said a total of 43 vehicles were stolen throughout Pierce County over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. From January to the end of October 2021, more than 1400 vehicles were stolen.
