SEATTLE — Fresh off a bounce-back win over Oregon State University, the Washington Huskies will host the Oregon Ducks on Saturday at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Huskies (12-6) 64-56 victory over the Beavers helped snap a two-game losing streak and moved them to 2-2 in Pac 12 play.
Washington’s win came without star freshman Jaden McDaniels who sat out the game with an ankle injury. After the game, head coach Mike Hopkins said he expects McDaniels to play against Oregon.
Heading into Thursday’s game, the Huskies were also still looking to fill the void left by point guard Quade Green – who was ruled academically ineligible last week.
Elijah Hardy, who had previously played in Green’s place, did not play against Oregon State.
Instead, the Huskies gave more minutes at point guard to sophomore Jamal Bey and freshman Marcus Tsohonis. Tsohonis finished with a season-high 11 points and three assists in 29 minutes.
On the other side, the No. 8 ranked Ducks come to Seattle coming off a disappointing 72-61 loss to the Washington State Cougars in Pullman. Washington State’s win was their first over a top 10 team since 2007.
Oregon is led by senior point guard Payton Pritchard who is averaging a team-high 19.4 points and 5.9 assists per game.
The game begins at 12:45 p.m. and you can watch it on KIRO 7.
