Gov. Inslee to terminate vaccine requirements for large events on March 1

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has amended the emergency order that requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative test for large indoor or outdoor events to end on March 1.

The announcement came amid dropping hospitalization rates, improved vaccination rates and broad access to masks and tests for Washingtonians.

Face masks were already announced to be no longer required in most settings, including schools and child care facilities, starting March 21.

Additionally, starting Wednesday, restrictions to indoor visits with long-term care facilities were removed from the emergency order.

Restrictions on the number of times a person can visit, how long they can visit and the number of visitors were all removed.

Physical distancing should still be maintained during busy visitation times and face coverings will still be mandated in these locations, even after the general face covering requirement is lifted on March 21.
