Firefighters find man dead in garage after Mill Creek house fire

MILL CREEK, Wash. — Firefighters found a man dead inside a garage after a house fire broke out in the 15300 block of 25th Drive Southeast in Mill Creek.

South County Fire said that firefighters arrived to smoke and flames coming from the garage of the two-story house.

Crews said they had the fire under control within 10 minutes and kept the flames contained to the garage.

Once the fire was out, a dead man was found inside the garage.

The identification of the victim and cause of death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one else was at the home at the time of the fire. No firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is part of an active and ongoing joint investigation by South County Fire and the Mill Creek Police Department.
