RENTON, Wash. — Crews are working to restore Comcast service to thousands of customers after an outage Wednesday night.
Officials said a fire at a Renton fiber site caused the outage, and the fire burned through the fiber-optic cable.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
According to Comcast officials, 25,000 customers were affected at the outage's peak.
Comcast officials said repairs are taking longer than expected. It is unknown when service will be fully restored.
