After skipping mandatory minicamp in June, Earl Thomas did not report to the start of training camp as he continues his push for a new contract.

Thomas is entering the final year of a four-year, $40 million extension.

The six-time Pro Bowler recently used his Instagram account to tell the Seahawks to either extend his contract or trade him.

Head coach Pete Carroll said the team expected Thomas to be at training camp.

"That's kind of how it is. He should be here and he's not,” said Carroll. “So it's really about the guys that are here now and we're trying to keep moving, moving and grooving and putting it together. That's unfortunate."

Thomas stands to be fined $40,000 for every practice he misses during training camp. If he were to miss regular-season games, he could lose money for that too.

It's up to the Seahawks whether to enforce those fines.

"I hope he gets back as soon as possible,” said Bradley McDougald, a Seahawks safety. “I would love to have him back as my teammate. I love him to death."

"He has our support but, you know, we've got to focus on who is here,” Bobby Wagner, a Seahawks linebacker, said. “We've got to make sure those guys get right, and make sure we're doing everything we can for the guys that are here. That's kind of where I'm at with it."

The Seahawks also announced that Kam Chancellor has been placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, confirming he will not play in 2018.

Earlier this month, Chancellor posted on Twitter that it's "time for the next chapter" of his life after test results on his injured neck showed no improvement.

"He had been an awesome Seahawk and he always is and will be and all that, but, for right now, that’s what this is about and he will miss the season,” said Carroll.
