Investigators rule Fremont fires as arson

Fire investigators have determined the two fires in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood on Monday were intentionally set and ruled them as arson.

At about 3:45 a.m., crews responded after a 911 call reported a fire in an alley in the 500 block of North 36th Street.

When crews arrived, the fire was spreading to a building and they called for a second alarm.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in 90 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The Habitude Salon and Spa and Red Star Taco Bar were damaged in the fire.

Investigators said the damages at the businesses were estimated at $190,000 of damage.

At about 4:15 a.m., there was a report of a fire in the 400 block of North 36th Street. When crews arrived, there was a small fire outside a building. It was quickly extinguished.

There was damage at the Ounce of Prevention and was estimated at $10,000.

Seattle police are still investigating.

On Wednesday afternoon, Seattle police released images of a a suspect.
