BURIEN, Wash. — Firefighters are battling a fire at a Burien apartment complex Thursday morning.
The fire is burning at the three-story building at the Whisperwood Apartments at 11848 26th Avenue South. Crews were called out around 5 a.m.
The first firefighters to arrive said heavy flames were coming from the second floor. The fire then extended to all three floors of the building, as well as the attic and roof.
Crews had to switch to a defensive strategy and fight the flames from outside the building.
One person needed medical treatment.
