KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — The cyclist killed in a crash on Central Valley Road in Kitsap County has been identified as 63-year-old John Skubic of Poulsbo.
Kitsap County Coroner Jeff Wallis released Skubic’s identity Saturday, saying that an autopsy was scheduled for this week.
Police said Skubic was riding his bike southbound on the shoulder when he was struck by a driver in a Jeep Cherokee, who was also going southbound.
The 28-year-old driver left the scene but was found a short time after the crash and was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run.
