SEATTLE, Wash. — It’s official -- Cole Young is a 2026 American League Gold Glove winner.

This is the first Gold Glove award of Cole Young’s career.

Young is the first Mariners player to win a Gold Glove award since both Cal Raleigh and Dylan Moore won back in 2024.

In addition, Young is the third second baseman in Mariners history to win a Gold Glove award, after Bret Boone and Harold Reynolds, according to the Mariners.

Despite a rather tough overall 2025-2026 campaign, Young was a standout on the Mariners, tallying 16 runs saved and over 220 putouts.

Young also had a fielding percentage of .990 and “lead the American League second basemen in nearly every traditional defensive category,” according to the Mariners.
