SEATTLE — The body of a man that was found Sunday in Seattle’s Matthews Beach Park has been identified.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man Wednesday as 36-year-old Renard Benton.
Officials said he died Saturday of blunt force injuries to the head and neck.
It was Sunday when police received reports of a body found in Thorton Creek inside the park around 11 a.m., law enforcement officials said.

Detectives at the scene and officials with the Harbor Unit helped assist with the recovery of the body from the creek.
