Kitsap County health officials have issued a no-contact advisory Tuesday for Sinclair Inlet and the Port Washington Narrows after a 4,000-gallon sewage spill occurred at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Officials said the spill occurred on March 2 and 3.
The public is asked to avoid any contact with the water, and if direct skin contact occurs, to immediately wash with soap and water.
The advisory is in effect through Sunday, March 10. The area is already closed to shellfish harvests because of ongoing pollution.
