SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Three people were seriously injured in a head-on crash on State Route 522 on Saturday in Snohomish County.
The collision happened shortly before 4 p.m., just west of the Snohomish River Bridge.
Troopers said one vehicle was going eastbound on the highway when it crossed the centerline and struck the other vehicle, going westbound.
Two people were taken to Harborview Medical Center and the third person was taken to EvergreenHealth Monroe Medical Center.
The driver going eastbound was reported to have been driving erratically just before crossing the centerline, authorities said. The driver was also believed to have been driving under the influence.
Both directions of SR 522 were closed for some time but later reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
