SAMMAMISH, Washington — The father of a teenager accused of attacking a 10-year-old girl and a 26-year-old woman in Sammamish told KIRO 7 on Tuesday he has tremendous support from the community.
Will Lewis’ 16-year-old son is in juvenile detention and has been charged with groping the girl and attacking the woman last week. He characterized the case as “gut-wrenching” to reporter Michelle Millman, and talked about the dozen or so people who showed up in court Tuesday to support his son.
“I think this was a community well represented today,” he said. “(They) did not have any issue with expressing their thoughts and feelings toward a circumstance or situation that’s a little bit overwhelming.”
Lewis’ name may be familiar to some; he’s a former player and executive with the Seattle Seahawks.
He said he’s sympathetic to everyone involved in the case.
His son will be back in court next month, when a judge will decide whether he stays in juvenile court or moves to adult court.
