GRANITE FALLS, Wash. — A body recovered over the weekend near Granite Falls has been identified as a man who had been missing since Dec. 1.
The body of 56-year-old Mark Acord was recovered Sunday near the Stillaguamish River.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Acord’s body was found below a 200-foot cliff.
Acord’s niece said her uncle had been staying at a family member’s house in Granite Falls where there are cliffs behind the home.
A family member found the body on Saturday during a search.
Acord is survived by his 18-year-old daughter.
