Two killed in Auburn crash

AUBURN, Wash. — Two people have been killed in a one-car crash in Auburn Wednesday morning.

It happened near the intersection of South 277th Street and 83rd Avenue South, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash is believed to have happened around 5:40 a.m.

KIRO 7 Traffic Anchor Rachel Calderon said the vehicle hit a tree and then caught fire.

One southbound lane of 83rd Avenue South between South 277th and SR 516/Willis Street is being used for northbound traffic while police investigate. The closure is expected to last for several hours, the sheriff's office said.
