SEATTLE — The Seahawks just lost their starting running back -- at least for this week.

According to the Seahawks’ injury report, rookie running back Jadarian Price will not play in Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Price, who has been dealing with a chest injury all week, practiced Wednesday in limited capacity, but did not participate in practice Thursday and Friday.

“Jadarian reaggravated his chest in practice,” Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald said in a press conference. “It’s unfortunate with JD, but hopefully, this gives him an opportunity to get healthy.”

There is not timeline for his return, but Macdonald clarified that his injury flared up again Wednesday.

While Zach Charbonnet is back from his ACL injury practicing in limited capacity, the Seahawks want him to be fully healthy before jumping back in.

“Zach’s looked fantastic,” Macdonald said. “It’s just there’s a process to get him physically and mentally ready to go. We understand that, and we’ll work with him and make sure he feels great when the time comes.”

With Price and Charbonnet out, Emmanuel Wilson, George Holani and Velus Jones Jr. are the next running backs up.

“We’ve got guys that are ready to go behind them that are preparing their tails off and are good players,” Macdonald added. “We feel like we have a good plan.”

That being said, Holani has also been dealing with a rib injury, and was limited all week.

As the running back room gets dealt a huge blow, the Seahawks get one crucial member of their secondary back -- Julian Love.

Love, who was out for last week’s game against the Washington Commanders, was a full participant at practice Friday, and will play Sunday.

Ty Okada, another key part of the Seahawks’ secondary, participated in full at Friday’s practice, but remains questionable for Sunday.

Players who popped up on the injury report throughout the week, including Grey Zabel, Rashid Shaheed, and Leonard Williams, are all good to go.

Linebacker Chazz Surratt is the only other player that is questionable for Sunday.

The Seahawks face the Chargers Sunday, Oct. 4, at Lumen Field. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m.
