Report: Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin may have played his last game

Right as the Seahawks made D.K. Metcalf their highest-drafted wide receiver since 2014, news broke that they might really need him.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported during the NFL Draft on Friday night that star Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin may be done playing professional football due to the cumulative effect of injuries throughout his career.

While Baldwin remained the Seahawks’ No. 1 wideout when healthy in 2018, he played a career-low 13 games while being hampered by multiple injuries, most notably one to each of his knees.

What he went through last season pales in comparison to what Baldwin's offseason has been like. He has undergone three separate surgeries on a knee, shoulder and sports hernia.

Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2011, Baldwin has been one of the great success stories in the franchise’s history, growing into a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2016 and 2017) and leading the NFL in touchdown receptions in 2015.
