SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seahawks will be without their starting quarterback for at least another week.
Head Coach Mike Macdonald confirmed today in a press conference that they plan to sit quarterback Sam Darnold this week, as he continues to deal with a glute injury.
Macdonald also mentioned that they do not expect to place Darnold on injured reserve.
“Don’t anticipate putting him on IR or anything like that,” Macdonald said. “Just going to re-evaluate every day, and re-evaluate next week, and we’ll go from there, but he won’t play this week.”
When asked if the Seahawks will add another quarterback ahead of the Arizona Cardinals game, Macdonald said they are going to stick with both Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe.
“We’re going to roll with Drew and Jalen,” Macdonald said.
Lock filled in for the injured Darnold last Wednesday and led the Seahawks to a 13-10 victory over the New England Patriots.
The veteran back-up quarterback went 16/22 on passing attempts, threw for 187 yards, and had one touchdown.
The Seahawks face the Cardinals Sunday, Sept. 20. Kickoff is set for 1:20 p.m. in Glendale.
