Sounders FC unveil new Rave Green jersey

SEATTLE — The Seattle Sounders FC unveiled its newest Rave Green kit Wednesday for 2020-21, which the club said will serve as its primary jersey.

According to a release from the soccer club, the kit will be dubbed “Forever Green,” and will include special elements that recognize the club’s commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest region.

It will also include a league-wide celebration of the MLS’ 25th season with retro 90s features.

According to the release, one of the most prominent elements of the “Forever Green” will be a distinctive wave pattern across the front panel. The club said the waves will serve as a nod to the club’s historic pre-MLS logos while symbolizing the team’s dedication to sustainability, respecting the waters of the Puget Sound.

The team’s crest will feature two stars -- a permanent silver star commemorating the 2016 MLS Cup Championship and a larger gold star above the silver in recognition of the team’s status as defending champions last year.

As the MLS celebrates its 25th season this year, all kits league-wide will feature distinctive retro elements, including three bold stripes across the right shoulder and wider cuffs and collars, according to the release.

Zulily will enter its second season as the Sounders FC’s jersey sponsor.
