Mariners to slash prices on food, drinks at T-Mobile Park for 2022 season

SEATTLE — In February, Climate Pledge Arena announced a new list of “value” concession items with lower prices. Now, the Seattle Mariners are following suit with their own “fan-friendly” menu at T-Mobile Park for the 2022 season.

The new menu will feature a list of items priced at $3 each, including hot dogs, fountain soft drinks (with free refills), bottled water, popcorn, nachos, peanuts, and Red Vines licorice. A selection of alcoholic beverages will also be discounted, including local craft beers from Georgetown Brewery, Mac & Jack’s, and more priced between $5 and $6 for 12-ounce cans.

That’s compared to a more modest decrease in prices at Climate Pledge Arena, which recently reduced its rates to charge $8.75 for Miller Lite or Miller High Life beer and $8 for a hot dog, among reduced prices for other select items.

T-Mobile Park also introduced changes to its main and view level concourses to create a smooth flow of foot traffic as well as reduced lines at concession stands.

“As a result, several small portable food, beverage and merchandise stands closest to the field on the Main Level have been replaced with fewer, larger locations that have more points of sale,” the Mariners detailed in a Tuesday press release.

Tickets to so-called “Value Games” will also be sold this season, offering up to 40% off regular pricing for 28 separate games spread across weekends and the summer months. In those instances, view level and bleacher seats will cost $10, main level tickets will be sold for $20, and terrace club seats will cost $30.

This follows a trend that began at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which introduced a slew of price cuts for concessions in 2018. After slashing concession prices, sales volume at the stadium rose by 50%, buoyed by a sizable increase in pregame food sales.
