Todd Mitchem said a bear was nosing around the front porch of his Evergreen home at about 3:16 a.m. MDT, KDVR reported.

“So. … errr ... I mean … hello, friend,” Mitchem wrote in a Facebook post.

The doorbell camera shows the bear approach the front door, sniff around and then finally leave.

With the first freeze possible in Colorado next week, bears have been roaming the area trying to find food before hibernation season.

According to officials with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, bears have entered hyperphagia -- the process when bears eat and drink nearly nonstop as they fatten up for hibernation -- and are now consuming approximately 20,000 calories per day, KDVR reported.

While the footage was in black-and-white, Mitchem told people who responded to his Facebook post that he believe the bear was a brown one. One thing everyone could agree on -- the bear was huge.
