Where is Dot?: Delivery driver charged with stealing cat from Minnesota home

CARVER COUNTY, Minn. — A man making a delivery in a Minnesota neighborhood took a parting gift that has left authorities a little purr-plexed.

Byron Thomas Vieau has been charged with misdemeanor theft and animal abandonment after he confessed to stealing a homeowner’s cat after making a delivery to the residence on Oct. 10, the Star Tribune reported.

According to WCCO, Vieau returned to the home almost two months to the day after taking Dot and left a note confessing and apologizing for his “poor judgment.”

Dot remains missing, and Vieau admitted he released the 12-year-old, long-haired, black and white male cat into the wild after having a “change of heart,” WCCO reported.

Anyone with information regarding Dot’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Carver County Sheriff’s Office at (952) 361-1212.
