Nathan Phillips, an officer with the St. Louis County Police Department, helped the driver out of a jam at about 5:40 a.m. CDT on July 26, KMOV-TV reported.

The video, which was posted to the department’s Facebook page, begins with Phillips approaching a vehicle that has water rising almost to its door handle, the television station reported.

“Man, you’ve got some dirty windows here,” Phillips jokes as he tries to keep the woman calm while attempting to break the vehicle’s glass, according to the video.

The officer was finally able to break the glass, and with the help of a bystander helped pull her to safety, KMOV reported.

“We’re always grateful for the help of our officers and citizens,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post.
