A message from Tom. ‘A real shame, I really thought Vera Lynn would live longer she’s been speaking so well on TV recently. She had a huge impact on me in Burma and remained important to me throughout my life. My thoughts are with Dame Vera Lynn's family at this sad time’

Such sad news that Dame Vera Lynn has passed away. Her spirit and message of resilience kept the Nation going during WW2 and again helped a new generation through the Queen’s moving address to the nation. She will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with her family at this time.

We’re very sorry to hear about the death of Dame Vera Lynn, a national icon. During the Second World War, her music was an inspiration to millions at home and at the front, and she visited several theatres as part of the Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA). 1/2
