Maybe they shouldn’t be using movie characters for testing real emergency systems?
The Texas Department of Public Safety sent out an Amber Alert for Chucky and his son Glen, Huffington Post reported.
The problem is Chucky and Glen aren’t real; they’re fictional characters from the “Child’s Play” horror films.
Glen Ray was introduced in the film “Seed of Chucky, Huffington Post reported.
The Amber Alert message showed the “abducted child” as Glen, describing him as 5 years old, with red or auburn hair, weighing 6 pounds and being 2 feet, 3 inches tall. He was described as wearing a blue shirt with a black collar at the time of his “abduction.”
Chucky was described as the alleged suspect. He was said to be 28 years old, with red or auburn hair, weighing 16 pounds and standing 3 feet, 1 inch tall. He was wearing blue denim overalls, a striped long-sleeve shirt and holding “a huge kitchen knife.”
UH OH: @TxDPS accidentally sends Amber Alert for "Glen" from "Child's Play" horror movie series. The suspect at large: "Chucky," described as "wielding a large kitchen knife." Agency says the alert was a test that wasn't meant to go to broadcasters. https://t.co/IocexBBIT8 @KPRC2

A phone number was listed, but KPRC reported it does not work.
The department said the flyer was a test on a development server that was sent accidentally, KPRC reported.
Officials said they are taking steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again, KENS reported.
