School bus crashes into a house in Ohio; no students injured, driver taken to the hospital

COLLEGE CORNER — A school bus driver has been taken to the hospital after a school bus crashed into a house on Monday morning.

According to WHIO, emergency crews were called out to a crash near the Ohio-Indiana border just before 8 a.m. The call came in and reported that a school bus transporting 32 students crashed into a building with the possibility that some were trapped, West College Corner Fire Chief Don Jackson told WHIO.

When crews arrived on the scene, they located a bus that had crashed into a house. Jackson told WHIO that other local fire departments were called to assist because there were students on the bus. They were all eventually removed from the bus and taken to the church across the street for evaluation. Fortunately, no students were injured, according to WHIO.

Jackson told WHIO that the bus driver was trapped. He was removed from the bus and was unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital and was reported to be breathing on his own. Updates on his current condition have not been released.

According to WHIO, the person who lives in the house that the bus crashed into was in the backyard at the time and was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further information has been released.
