“(Giuliani) by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC... has tested positive for the China Virus,” Trump said on social media. “Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on.”

Giuliani was exhibiting some COVID-19 symptoms and was admitted Sunday to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, The Associated Press reported.

Giuliani is the latest member in President Donald Trump’s sphere to test positive.

Corey Lewandowski, a senior advisor for Trump’s re-election campaign, tested positive last month. He believed he caught the virus while he spent time in Philadelphia. Lewandowski was in Pennsylvania with Giuliani where they appeared together and lobbed unfound accusations of voter fraud in front of a landscape company.

Others who attended an election night celebration also later tested positive, including White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive in October for the virus. Several others in Republican circles also were infected after attending a September celebration for the Supmere Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
