Royal wedding surprise: Princess Beatrice marries in small ceremony

There was no parade, no lines of royal family fans. Instead, the latest royal wedding was a quiet, private affair as Princess Beatrice of York married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice married Mozzi at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with the ceremony attended by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and close family members, NBC News reported.

Her parents Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, were also at the ceremony, the BBC reported.

Buckingham Palace said the ceremony followed government guidelines when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mozzi and Beatrice were engaged in September 2019 and had planned to be married in May at Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in London with the reception to be held in Buckingham Palace’s gardens.

But the wedding was delayed.

Weddings are allowed to proceed under the country’s pandemic guidelines but are limited to about 30 people with social distancing, NBC News reported.
