The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death of Loaded, whose real name is Dashawn Maurice Robertson, the Dallas Morning News reported. Loaded’s attorney, Ashkan Mehryari, also confirmed his death to hip hop magazine XXL.

“Sadly, the rumors are true and Mr. Robertson did pass away today,” Mehryari said in a statement.

His cause of death has not been released. Mehryari said the death was “very tragic.”

Loaded gained notoriety in 2019 with the widely viewed video to the song “6locc 6a6y,” which has more than 28 million views. Loaded noted Thursday on social media that the song was certified gold last week by the Recording Industry Association of America.

“He had a very bright and promising music career ahead of him,” Mehryari told the Dallas Morning News.

Loaded was indicted in March on manslaughter charges in the death of Khalil Walker, the Dallas Morning News reported. The two were good friends. Loaded, Walker and another person were outside a home when Loaded accidentally shot Walker with a rifle, his attorney said. Video of the incident was recorded on Walker’s phone. Walker was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. Loaded turned himself in Nov. 9 after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.

“There’s obviously no malice here,” Mehryari said in March when the indictment was handed down.
