Missing father of Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander found alive

NAPLES, Fla — Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander’s father has been found after he was reported missing in Florida Monday, according to officials.

Jean Alexandre was found Thursday after he walked up to the ranger station at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park, according to the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.

His son, Alexander had left Bengals training camp earlier this week to assist in the search for his missing father in Florida and was booked on a battery charge after he confronted Mauricet Etienne who was with his father when he went missing, according to Collier County jail records obtained by WPTV.

Investigators say Etienne told them he, Alexandre and others drove about 80 miles to pick palmetto berries in Okeechobee County on Monday and after several hours of picking, he could not find Alexandre. He spent three hours searching for Alexandre before returning to Immokalee to pick up Alexandre’s wife, Marie. They returned to Okeechobee County, where they searched for another 45 minutes before heading back to Immokalee and calling deputies.
