‘Love & Hip Hop Miami’ alum ‘Prince’ Michael Harty arrested for battery, kidnapping

MIAMI — Former “Love & Hip Hop Miami” star Christopher “Prince” Michael Harty was arrested Wednesday in connection to an alleged domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend of more than a year.

Harty, who has been charged with battery and kidnapping, dubbed himself the “Prince of South Beach” and appeared on the Miami-based reality show for two seasons, WTVJ reported.

According to Harty’s arrest report, the victim went to his Brickell apartment building July 22 to drop off Harty’s shoes and tossed them at him when he opened the door, WFOR-TV reported.

Harty, 31, is accused of then pulling the victim inside the residence by her backpack, slamming her to the floor and punching her in the mouth. Police said that he also struck the woman in the back of the head with an open hand, dragged her by her hair and barred her from being able to leave the apartment, WPLG reported.

The woman eventually escaped to another floor with the help of Harty’s neighbors but then encountered him a second time when she tried to enter an elevator, at which point he attempted unsuccessfully to pull her into the lift before neighbors ordered him to stop, the TV station reported.

The victim, who suffered minor scratches and bruises to her lip, neck, chest, arms and legs, called police from the apartment building’s lobby, WPLG reported.
