James Malone, 29, of Campbellsville, was arrested by Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife officials on Sunday, WDRB reported. He was charged with spotlighting, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, illegal taking or pursuing of deer or wild turkey, hunting or trapping without a license or permit and littering, according to Taylor County online booking records.

According to an arrest report, Malone was caught shining his spotlight on a deer from his SUV on Sunday night, WDRB reported.

However, the deer was not real. It was a robot that officials use to catch people hunting illegally, the television station reported.

The arrest report stated that when officers searched Malone’s vehicle, they allegedly found methamphetamine.

Malone is currently being held in the Taylor County Detention Center, according to online booking records. No bail has been set.
