The “According to Jim” star, 68, stopped by WGN-TV to discuss his upcoming Blues Brothers show, but then joined the news team as they discussed a range of subjects -- including the weather.

Belushi certainly was succinct as he pointed toward Chicago on the map.

“Sucks,” Belushi said. “It’s hot.”

The projected high for Chicago for Saturday was 93 degrees.

Tom Skilling, WGN’s meteorologist, commented that the Illinois native was more of a natural than Nicolas Cage, who once tried giving the forecast while promoting his 2005 film “The Weatherman” during a visit to the television station.

“There’s Green Bay, this should not even be on the map right now,” Belushi said. “We don’t look at Green Bay, we can beat them.”

Switching back to weather, Belushi pointed out the hot spots in the Midwest, which has been sweltering with the recent heat wave.

“Well, look, here’s the clouds,” Belushi said, pointing to some expected rain over Chicago. He also identified a storm just north of Wisconsin.

“Hey, you get three meteorology credits just for that,” Skilling said.

The comedian also gave a more thorough weather report as Skilling and fellow meteorologist Demetrius Ivory watched.

Belushi and Dan Aykroyd will be performing on the first night of the inaugural Blues Brothers Con festival on Aug. 19-20 in Joliet, Illinois. The festival will also be held at the Old Joliet Prison, which was included in the original “Blues Brothers” film, WGN reported.
