A Japanese man was arrested for fraud after dating 35 different women at the same time in a scheme to get birthday presents from them.
Takashi Miyagawa, 39, met the women while selling specialized shower heads as part of a multi-level marketing company, Mainichi Broadcasting Systems reported.
Miyagawa, who has no known address, pretended to each woman that their relationship was serious and received lavish gifts from them for birthdays that did not exist. Miyagawa was born Nov. 13. However, to the nearly three dozen women who lavished him with nearly $925 in gifts, including clothes and electronics, his birthday was Feb. 22, or in July or April.
Victims filed a complaint with police in February. Investigators believe there could be more victims.
Miyagawa did not comment to MBS.
