Florida man whose wife ran day care charged with molestation following child porn arrest

BOCA RATON, Fla. — A Florida man whose wife ran a day care from their Boca Raton home is facing molestation allegations just weeks after he was arrested on child pornography charges, authorities said.

According to the Miami Herald, Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies originally arrested David Manas, 62, of Boca Raton, on July 30 and charged him with 30 counts of possessing child porn. But jail records show that another 48 charges, including lewd and lascivious molestation and using a child in a sexual performance, have been filed against him, WPBF reported Monday.

Authorities said Manas took nude photos of the children at the day care, which was unlicensed, during “naked time,” according to WPBF. Investigators found more than 100 pornographic photos of children on his tablet, including some of a toddler girl being held down by a man’s arms, the news outlet reported.

Manas is being held on a bond of more than $2 million, WPBF reported.
