Dolly Parton-inspired rooftop bar opens in Nashville

NASHVILLE — If a bar was inspired by Dolly Parton what would it look like? Well, there would be a lot of pink, at least if White Limozeen, a recently opened rooftop bar in Nashville honoring the country star serves as an example.

The bar's name comes from Parton's 29th studio album and song, "White Limozeen," released in 1989. The song is about a country girl who moves out to Hollywood and becomes a star.

The opulent indoor and outdoor space is covered in pink. There are rich, pink velour couches. Pink bar stools surround a circular, rosy onyx bar. The walls are painted pink. There are bright pink umbrellas around the pool and there’s even a pink chicken wire sculpture of Parton.

“We wanted it to feel really approachable and really feasible for everyone to be there, everyone to have a good time, whether you’re drinking a can of Natty Light, or you’re ordering caviar,” Marc Rose, who runs the bar, told The Tennessean. “And if you order that caviar, we expect you to spill it on your shirt because you’re having such a good time.”

The vintage bar sits atop the boutique Graduate Hotel.

"We have a character in every hotel," Graduate Hotels CEO Ben Weprin, who developed the Parton concept for the bar, told CNN. "Here, it's a country girl who moves to the city and makes it big."

For guests looking for a more immersive Parton stay, the hotel also features a "9 to 5" suite.

Parton has not yet stopped by.

“I hope she comes,” Weprin said. “We’d love to have her.”
