‘Devil made me do it’: Tennessee man accused in woman’s stabbing death

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A Tennessee man accused in the stabbing death of a Chattanooga woman said the “devil made me do it,” according to an affidavit.

Sean Ryan Little, 38, of Chattanooga, was arrested and charged on Dec. 7, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported. He was charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault, according to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

Little is accused of fatally stabbing Sara Ferguson, 38, at a home in Chattanooga on Dec. 7, WRCB-TV reported.

According to the affidavit, one of Ferguson’s sons told deputies that he had seen Little on top of his mother with a knife, the television station reported. He told deputies he yelled at Little, who began chasing him and said, “the devil made me do it.”

The witness’ 3-year-old brother was also present at the time of the alleged stabbing, the Times Free Press reported. Another sibling, 7, ran out of the back door of the home, according to the newspaper.

Ferguson was found dead upstairs in the home with stab wounds to her face, chest and back, according to WCRB. Little was located by deputies in a wooded area behind the home after searching for about 90 minutes, WTVC reported.

Bail for Little was set at $1 million, the Times Free Press reported. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18, 2023, online court records show. Little has been assigned a public defender.
