According to the Miami Herald, the famous couple got their inspiration from Miami handbag designer Gelareh Mizrahi, who began a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for N95 masks, gloves, goggles and face shields for hospitals. Khaled and Tuck then “joined in on her efforts,” the foundation’s news release said of Mizrahi, whose brother works at a hospital in New York. They then partnered with Direct Relief “to give the most vulnerable the equipment they need,” the release said.

“This support translates into immediate, practical help, and is such a wonderful example of everyone pulling together and doing whatever we can to protect those who are most vulnerable,” Direct Relief President and CEO Thomas Tighe said in a statement.
