WASILLA, Alaska — A 55-year-old woman in Alaska shot an axe-wielding intruder on Friday after the man broke into her house and threatened to kill her, investigators said.
The Alaska Highway Patrol said a woman shot the intoxicated 66-year-old man after he forced his way into her home with an axe around 10 p.m., KTUU reported.
Troopers said the man, who has not been identified, threatened to kill her. She then shot him with a handgun. The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Palmer District Attorney’s Office will not file charges against the woman.
Authorities are investigating the burglary and assault committed by the man in the hospital. It is unclear what charges might be filed.
